Personal Opinion

This is my own opinion and some overview of "the voice"

"The Voice" by Thomas Hardy is a poem which explores ideas of love and death. Overall, "The Voice" reflects Thomas Hardy's loneliness, sadness that he lost his wife and his nostalgia about the past. Thomas Hardy suddenly lost his wife before he wrote this poem and he didn't have a good relationship with his wife. This fact is also reflected by a sense of guilt in the poem, e.g. woman (impersonal). By writing this poem, Thomas Hardy tried to ease his guilt and his great sadness that he lost his wife. Also, I think his message in the poem is to love what you have now, that we also can suddenly lose important things and regret for not being appreciating them. I also found that I didn't care enough about lots of important people around me and this poem made them more special. Thanks to this poem, I learned how to love every moment.
